Tomorrow is the day
Well, we have the official word from Day Surgery for tomorrow’s procedure, Namine’s heart catheterization.

Heart cath
I think we are getting closer to her third heart surgery, but we may not be there yet. She had some appointments this morning. Jessica was going to come and eat lunch with me after the doctor stuff, but Namine said she was tired and wanted to go home and rest.

Cardiology visit
This morning we took Namine to see her cardiologist. This was to see when she should have her heart cath, and to look to the future: the Fontan.

The moment you fear
Last week Namine had a blood draw in order to check for things. Things that would explain her recent lethargy and lack of appetite. Friday evening we got a call from the pediatrician, who said that there is nothing to indicate sickness. The next step? Contact cardiology at Children’s Hospital.

Cleft palate clinic
I can never remember if I’m supposed to refer to Dr. Denny’s team as the “cleft palate team” or just the “palate team.” I imagine it’s the latter, since the good doctor does all sorts or palate work. But since Namine had a cleft palate, that term just sort of stuck with us. At any…

Hospital time
On Friday Jessica had a bone marrow biopsy. Let me back up a bit. Her platelets have been low for some time – for several years, if the doctor is correct. This had never come to our attention; so Jessica had to have a blood test done. Its results were inconclusive, thus the biopsy.

An ear miss
Oh, don’t look at me like that. I couldn’t help it. Anyway, Namine had an impromptu ENT clinic visit yesterday. The night before, we thought we saw some drainage, much to our dismay. So we took her in.

Improvement
Last week Namine had another (yes, another) ENT clinic appointment. Since Jessica was busy being The Amazing Human Taxi for her mom, it fell to me to take the munchkin to the hospital. Of course, I’d gladly do so anyway.

Pending ear surgery?
Namine needing surgery on her ear is not a sure thing, not yet at least. After yet another ENT visit today, though, I think they’re as tired as we are. But I think no one is quite as tired of this as Namine. She threw up when she saw the doctor.

Ear infection: now with blood
This ear infection just won’t quit. And now Namine’s ear is bleeding. Wonderful.

It’s officially autumn
You know fall has arrived when everybody gets sick. Well, it’s here for the Eiche household. Yesterday morning, Namine woke up from a nightmare at about 6 in the morning. As if that were not bad enough, she also woke up with the croup. You know, it’s kind of funny. We’d gone to church the…

Persistent infection
We paid a visit to the ENT clinic yesterday, in order to see whether Namine’s ear infection had cleared up yet. It hasn’t. As a bonus, Namine had a panic attack in the clinic, too.
