Heart cath

I think we are getting closer to her third heart surgery, but we may not be there yet. She had some appointments this morning. Jessica was going to come and eat lunch with me after the doctor stuff, but Namine said she was tired and wanted to go home and rest.

Friday is the day we dread, sort of; it’s the day of Namine’s heart cath. Our day starts early: we have to be at the hospital at 7:30, maybe 8:00 in the morning. The procedure starts at 10:30, I think, but we need to arrive a couple hours early.

Namine is what they call a “hard stick” – often times it’s very difficult to get a good line in her veins. Depending on how long that takes, the waiting time could be increased dramatically. The cath itself shouldn’t take more than a few hours, but then there’s the waiting for results. This won’t be like other scans, where we can go home as soon as Namine is done; we have to stay for results because if things don’t go well, they’ll want to keep her overnight.

We’re praying hard for an easy procedure and good results.
