Namine
Namine Olivia Eiche was born on July 15, 2008 with a double-inlet left ventricle heart defect; Pierre Robin sequence, a condition that resulted in a regressed jaw and a partial (U-shaped) cleft palate; caudal regression syndrome (also known as sacral agenesis), which damages the growth of the tailbone and legs, also giving her clubfoot; and scoliosis.

Halloween bulletin board
It’s that time again, kids. We decided to take down the Fourth of July bulletin board and do something a little more autumn-appropriate. You know, like Halloween.

At the pumpkin farm
On Sunday we (Jessica, Namine, and myself) joined my sister, my brother, and his wife in going to a pumpkin farm.

Self-sufficiency
Namine wants to be independent, so we’ve done some things to enable her around the house.

A Day at the Farm
Today was Namine’s field trip with the RVA to the Homestead Farm in Hartland.

Taking risks
With as much work as Namine has been doing in physical therapy lately, it got me thinking. It’s been over two years since her second foot surgery, and she’s come leaps and bounds (sometimes literally) since then. It simply amazes me, how strong and resilient my daughter is.

Kickball
It had been a while since Namine had last gotten to kick the beach ball around at therapy. But doing so again reminded her how much she loved it.

School and more
Namine is still catching up on some school from being sick a few days ago. Fortunately, we can work at a pace comfortable to her.

Building leg strength
Yesterday at physical therapy, Namine walked around in the grass. We won’t have nice weather for very long until the winter comes, so I’m glad she was able to go outside.

Cleaning and karting
I’ve written before on how Namine likes to play video games with me, but I think this is the first time that she’s written about it.

The sweet sound of the piano fills our house.
