Namine
Namine Olivia Eiche was born on July 15, 2008 with a double-inlet left ventricle heart defect; Pierre Robin sequence, a condition that resulted in a regressed jaw and a partial (U-shaped) cleft palate; caudal regression syndrome (also known as sacral agenesis), which damages the growth of the tailbone and legs, also giving her clubfoot; and scoliosis.

A cold day out
It was significantly colder today than yesterday.
-

Fun in the… well, not sun
I’m glad we got to play in the pool today, because I think the weather will not allow it again.
-

Swimming and a sunset
We’re all tired after our first full day in Florida. Tired, but happy.
-

Well-traveled fly
When we were still in Georgia, a fly entered our car.

Vacation, day 2
Don’t look for a “vacation day 1” post, because it isn’t there. I was too tired (as we all were) to write about the first leg of our trip last night.
-

Edible spelling
Namine had to do something for school the other day which I thought was weird.
-

Tough questions, hard answers
Namine is asking more difficult questions about her own disabilities.
-

Thanksgiving bulletin board
We’ve updated our bulletin board in a timely manner, for once. :)

Trip to the doctor
Over the weekend, I took Namine in to the doctor. She had woken up with a barking cough and quite a lot of boogers, which tends to happen as soon as it gets cold.
-

Pumpkin carving
We had gone to a couple different pumpkin farms, but we never got around to carving our pumpkins. We remedied that today. Better late than never, I suppose.
-

Mummy dogs
I’m usually not one for making those little novelty holiday food items, but for some reason I had a lot of fun with the mummy dogs we made last year. So for once it was not Jessica but I who suggested making them again.

Trick or treating
On Saturday we took Namine trick or treating. She had a lot of fun!
