Namine
Namine Olivia Eiche was born on July 15, 2008 with a double-inlet left ventricle heart defect; Pierre Robin sequence, a condition that resulted in a regressed jaw and a partial (U-shaped) cleft palate; caudal regression syndrome (also known as sacral agenesis), which damages the growth of the tailbone and legs, also giving her clubfoot; and scoliosis.

Sleeping better
Getting Namine a new bed is the best thing we could have done.

New bed!
Tonight I get to write the post I wanted to last Sunday, and Namine could not be happier.

Putting on braces
I love to write about Namine’s progress in her walker. I haven’t written as much about her braces, though.

Snow day
The day did not go at all the way we had planned. Instead of getting Namine’s new bed, we made Valentine’s Day crafts.

On the treadmill
Physical therapy used to be twice a week. It has since been cut down to once a week, but it’s an hour and a half of discomfort at best — agony and pain at worst.

Betty Brinn museum
Variety, the children’s charity group, had an outing the other night.

Reason for the pain
We went to our church’s evening service last night. I helped Namine draw from personal experience to understand the sermon’s lesson.

Fairest of them all
Yesterday morning we went to see Snow White in the theater. Then Namine amazed me.

Sunday school
I picked Namine up from Sunday School.

Preconceptions and limitations
I’d like to think that I’ve matured enough to move past having preconceptions about what my daughter can do. I was wrong.

Valentine’s Day bulletin board
Over the weekend, we took apart our Thanksgiving bulletin board. Now it’s a Valentine’s Day board.
