Namine
Namine Olivia Eiche was born on July 15, 2008 with a double-inlet left ventricle heart defect; Pierre Robin sequence, a condition that resulted in a regressed jaw and a partial (U-shaped) cleft palate; caudal regression syndrome (also known as sacral agenesis), which damages the growth of the tailbone and legs, also giving her clubfoot; and scoliosis.

Inaccessible library
We visited a library, but we couldn’t really do anything there.
-

This Is How We Roll Fashion Show 2019
Namine had a wonderful time rolling down the runway in her second fashion show!
-

Happy National Walking Day
Today is National Walking Day. As it happens, Namine had physical therapy today, too.
-

At the Purple Giraffe
Namine picked out her outfit for her upcoming fashion show!
-

Eye appointment
Namine’s appointment to see the eye doctor went well. Her vision has actually improved since last time.
-

World Theater Day
So I missed it by a day. Apparently it was World Theater Day yesterday. Well, better late than never.
-

A wild ride
Namine likes to push the little shopping carts they have in grocery stores. They can be a little uncontrollable sometimes, though. (Sounds kind of like a ten year old I know.)
-

Yelling at police
We went to the mall and encountered some accessibility ignorance.
-

New bed frame
Even since we got Namine a new bed four years ago, we left it on the floor. Well, not anymore: now it has a frame.
-

StoneFire Pizza
Namine and her friends from ballet class spent the afternoon at StoneFire Pizza.
-

Dance studios and disability
Ellen Stumbo (whose blog you should be reading anyway, she’s excellent) writes about her negative experience in attempting to enroll her daughter who has Down Syndrome in dance class. (As usual, I have plenty to say on the topic too.)
-

To serve tennis
Namine learned to serve in her tennis lesson, and then played (and won) a match against her coach. (Ten points to the Hogwarts house of your choice if you got the reference.)
