We had opted to leave Namine’s mattress and box spring on the floor so she could easily climb into it. She’s taller and stronger now, and she felt that she would be able to climb in and out of her bed even sitting on top of a frame. There was only one way to find out.
We picked up a new metal adjustable bed frame, which I assembled with little difficulty (and with much less swearing than with the crib/toddler bed). Once I had put the box spring and mattress on it, I asked Namine to try climbing in.
She was able to do so with no problems at all. She did, however, have the biggest smile on her face as she did so.
It’s been a few days since we got the new frame for Namine’s bed. Not only does she enjoy climbing in and out of her higher bed, she is also sleeping better.
