Namine’s sinus and ear infections are not getting any better. She coughed nearly all night last night, and so today we paid a visit to the ENT clinic to have her ear suctioned and a nasal culture taken. You can imagine how that went.
Before the ENT clinic, Jessica took Namine to the pediatrician this morning. Earlier this morning – around 10:00, I think – Namine’s temp was normal. But just about an hour and a half later, her temp was nearly 100. So Jessica set up an appointment and brought her in. The doctor recommended having a culture taken of her nose, so Jessica set up an appointment for early this evening at the CHW clinic.
Namine did fine, given the experiences she’s had at the clinic, up until we entered the room with the table she was to lay down on. I was carrying her, and she grabbed on to me even tighter. We had to wrap her in a blanket and hold her down. It took three of us – Jessica, me, and a nurse – to keep her still for both the ear suctioning and the nose swab. But that’s all done now, and we’ll see soon enough how the culture comes back.
Interestingly enough, Namine was perfectly fine with me giving her ear drops to her tonight.
