We had planned on Namine coming home yesterday, but that didn’t happen because she’s had more secretions than usual. We then hoped that Namine would come home today, but now that’s not happening, either.
Namine has a potential trach and lung infection. She also has a possible C-diff infection. This is a severe bacterial infection in your stomach and intestines, and it’s caused by being on antibiotics for too long. Ironic, then, that they put her on another antibiotic to get rid of the infection. She’s also on antibiotics for her newly installed hardware (my poor little cyborg baby), plus for the possible infection in her trach and lungs.
If Namine does not have C-diff, then we should be able to go home tomorrow. But if she does have C-diff, we’ll be here a while, possibly even past Christmas.
