Therapy and tachycardia
I’ve seen all the videos Jessica has taken of Namine at physical therapy, of course. But I’ve only rarely attended Namine’s therapy sessions, because they are during the week when I’m at work.

MRSA, MRSA, go away
Come again, some other… never. Yeah, let’s go with never. Namine’s pediatrician called us; the culture they took last week on her MRSA infection – or what was left of it – came back negative. This is great news, a step toward getting her taken off contact isolation status.

Speech appointment
We had an appointment today with the speech pathologist. (Yes, that one.) It went far better than I expected. In fact, we now have solid evidence that not only is Namine speaking better with the palatal prosthetic in, her speech is improved when she isn’t wearing it.

An exciting night
Namine was feeling much better by the time we got home from the urgent care clinic. At that point, it was quarter of eleven, so we ate our Fazoli’s and put her to bed. She was happy to go.

Eye appointment
Namine had an eye doctor appointment this morning. Going to the hospital is nothing outside of routine for us, and this was just your normal checkup.

Cardiology appointment
Yesterday afternoon Namine had a follow-up appointment with her cardiologist. Despite the long road of recovery, her chest incision is finally healing.

The palatal lift prosthesis is a mouthful
Namine has finally gotten her new palatal prosthetic.

Dentist appointment
Namine sees many different doctors, for many different things. A given week can easily be full of appointments – not a single day of staying home, for the most part. Today, though, was Namine’s most feared visit: the dentist. At least, that’s what we thought.

A high-stress situation
I’m not a fan of surprising Namine with doctor visits. She knew that she had an appointment with her pediatrician this afternoon, but she didn’t know any details. She certainly didn’t know that she would be getting vaccinated, and I wasn’t about to tell her.

Bravery unmatched
I am happy to say that Namine’s PICC line is finally out. It was a fairly uneventful process, with one minor hiccup. Namine never ceases to amaze me.

What matters most
Yesterday we found out that Namine’s most recent x-ray shows evidence of a congenital defect in her right shoulder.

Another blood draw
Remember those blood draws? Well, Namine had another one today, again to check her INR. They dropped her coumadin dose since last time, so here we are again.
