Clinic tomorrow
As if last week was not bad enough with all its clinic visits, we have one more this week, midst all of Namine’s resumed therapy sessions. But while last week’s clinics were mere one- to two-hour deals, tomorrow’s is promised to be at least four hours long. A four-hour clinic visit is nothing new to…

Moments worth celebrating
There’s a word that circulates the special needs community, that I come across now and again. That word is “inchstone” – as opposed to “milestone.”

Sidewalk arteest
It was a nice day today, so Namine got to draw with chalk on the sidewalk outside today. Jessica took a short video of her, and I’ve uploaded it for your viewing pleasure. You even get to see the little smarty pants give some attitude near the end.

Pain and progress
Namine is a peculiar combination of tough and delicate.

Keep on rolling
Jessica and I will be taking Namine to the pediatrician this afternoon.

Progress at PT
Yesterday Namine had physical therapy.

Her quiet strength
Yesterday morning, Namine proved that all the therapy with her legs and feet is paying off.

She still coughs occasionally – and sometimes hard enough to make us think she’s going to throw up – but while asleep, thankfully, she seems to be free of it. She didn’t wake up screaming last night, but I didn’t make her keep the braces…

Orthotics appointment today
Jessica took Namine in to see orthotics today.

Ear infection, again (or still?)
Yesterday we took Namine in to see the doctor. We’ve been giving her ear drops prescribed for her ear infection (just a day or two left in the original prescription, now), and we thought that the infection was all but gone. We certainly hadn’t seen any drainage or any other evidence of an active infection,…

Spreading awareness
The other day, I took Namine to McDonald’s, just the two of us out to a father-daughter lunch after a hard physical therapy session. Namine had worked hard, and despite being sick, made steps (ha ha) toward strengthening her legs. She deserved a treat.
