Namine
Namine Olivia Eiche was born on July 15, 2008 with a double-inlet left ventricle heart defect; Pierre Robin sequence, a condition that resulted in a regressed jaw and a partial (U-shaped) cleft palate; caudal regression syndrome (also known as sacral agenesis), which damages the growth of the tailbone and legs, also giving her clubfoot; and scoliosis.

Learning to skate
Last weekend, Namine got to try something new: sled hockey.

No vacation
We were so looking forward to going to Florida this coming week, but that’s no longer a possibility. Namine has suffered some complications due to her broken leg, and her orthopedic doctor has instructed her not to travel.
-

Batman French Toast
For Easter, Namine had gotten a DC Comics cookbook. It’s nothing more than a simple kids’ cookbook, but superheroes make everything more awesome.
-

Back to dance
Namine was welcomed — I should say swarmed — by her dance mates on her first day back since breaking her leg. The way they welcomed her, I could tell she was missed.
-

Circus
Yesterday we went to the Tripoli Three-Ring Circus, courtesy of the Variety Club.

Getting the cast off
Namine got her cast off today, but her leg is still broken.

Dyeing Easter eggs
Just some pictures of Namine having fun coloring Easter eggs.

Philosophy of a hero
Over the weekend, we took Namine to see Marvel Universe Live. Seeing it prompted some questions from Namine.

Marvel Universe Live!
We took Namine to see Marvel Universe Live yesterday. It was amazing!
-

Palermo’s tour
Namine had a field trip yesterday to Palermo’s Pizza Factory.
-

More like herself
Namine has been moving around more on her own, climbing and scooting as much as she can.

What is love?
Sometimes I like to ask Namine questions to which there is no wrong answer. The answer she gives me is the right one for her.
