Yesterday was the first day of Namine’s new physical therapy schedule. Instead of once a week, she’s got it twice a week. Her therapist felt that this is the right direction, since she’s been improving so much lately.

Namine has been walking in her new shoes for a little while now, but yesterday was the first time her therapist was able to observe her doing so firsthand. They’re not the greatest — mainly because Crocs tend to get hot inside and the material doesn’t breathe — but they’ll do for now, especially since they’re the most comfortable pair of shoes we’ve been able to find.

Namine has completely outgrown her braces, and even though for a while she’d been alternating between using them and shoes, they are now much too small for her feet. We have an appointment next week to measure her for a new pair, but therapy can’t stop to wait for that. Besides, does anyone really expect Namine to stop walking? Not a chance.

She'll stand and walk as much as she can, whether her therapist has given her blessing or not.

Speaking of walking — Namine hit another milestone yesterday. It was the first time she’s walked with her walker completely unlocked. It has customizable locks, which can be set to allow rolling at various speeds, as well as to prevent rolling backwards. Her therapist unlocked the wheels and let her loose.
