Today is National Walking Day . As it happens, Namine had physical therapy today, too. Namine tells anyone who will listen that her lifelong dream is to walk on her own. Because she was born with Caudal Regression Syndrome, her legs cannot yet support her weight. She’s not about to let that stop her, though!
Ellen Stumbo (whose blog you should be reading anyway, she’s excellent) writes about her negative experience in attempting to enroll her daughter who has Down Syndrome in dance class. (As usual, I have plenty to say on the topic too.)
Namine recently got fitted for new AFOs. She used them for the first time in therapy today.
Namine has switched back to using her old walker.
Namine’s new walker has finally arrived!
I knew we got a large vehicle for a reason.
This morning, Namine’s new wheelchair was delivered!
We had a busy night last night. We met with the Marquette students building Namine’s new sports chair, and then Namine had a screening for the Milwaukee Ballet.
Namine got some good news from her orthopedic surgeon.
Namine’s leg is still broken, but it’s healing nicely.
