  • Better and worse

    Better and worse

When Jessica gets sick, we hope she doesn’t need to be put on antibiotics because she’s allergic to so many. Namine has quite a few medical allergies, but not as many as Jessica. Yet.

  • Sickness

    Sickness

After such a busy day yesterday, we thought that today would be a little more relaxed. We were wrong.

  • “Don’t kiss me”

    “Don’t kiss me”

So Namine has been dealing with a bit of a head cold since last night. After tucking her into bed, I leaned in to give her a kiss. No, don’t kiss me, Daddy, I don’t want to get you sick. Let’s hug and blow kisses instead.

  • Cookie day 2013

    Cookie day 2013

Jessica and her sisters had been planning today for some time. Today was cookie day… or perhaps, as I think of it, Cookie Day. We estimate a number of greater than six hundred cookies were made in the course of six hours. That’s not bad for having a single oven.

  • For the better

    For the better

Some thoughts of a special needs parent.

  • My tiny hero

    My tiny hero

Perhaps you remember me mentioning TinySuperheroes.com – they sent Namine a cape after one of my readers sponsored her.

  • Creativity

    Creativity

Namine came up with this one all on her own. I have a brushtache!

  • The shark bites

My dad sang this song to me when I was a boy. Just passing it along.

  • Rock star

    Rock star

So Namine had her sunglasses on. I told her, “You shouldn’t wear them inside, it will hurt your eyes.” She said, But I want to be a rock star. Mom, when will I be a rock star?

  • ENT and therapy

    ENT and therapy

We took Namine in to see her ENT doctor today. She’s been complaining of her ear bothering her, so we feared the worst: an ear infection. Fortunately, that turned out to not be the case.

  • Tonight’s gem from Namine

I was in the kitchen getting some water when Jessica called in to me, “Can you grab me a seltzer?” Namine hollered in after, Can I have a saltzer too? Hey, what’s a saltzer?

  • Like father, like daughter

    Like father, like daughter

Last night, Namine and I made beer bread and chocolate cake. The bread was just part of dinner, and the cake was in celebration of Jessica’s birthday. (She is celebrating another anniversary of her 21st birthday, in case you were wondering.) While we were eating dinner, I noticed Namine doing something… familiar.
