“A day late and a dollar short,” as the saying goes… and although we weren’t able to get together for Christmas Cookie Day as we’d hoped, we were still able to bake some for Valentine’s Day. My aunt had made some cookie dough, so she brought it over for Namine to help cut out some cookies and bake them.
We didn’t have any frosting, but we had the supplies to make some. We also have a plethora (a word I don’t get to use very often in conversation) of food coloring. So Jessica made a large batch of frosting and divided it into smaller bowls for a few different colors. We also have oodles of sprinkles — some for nearly every holiday, and probably some made up ones too. I prefer my cookies naked, so we left some undecorated as well.
I suppose we could change the saying, just this once, to: “a day late and cookies a-plenty.”
