On Thursday I took Namine to the speech pathologist at Children’s. He wanted to see and hear Namine speak with the prosthetic and without it. I had not put the prosthetic in because it makes Namine throw up. So we went without it, I still had it in my purse. Namine did her talking into…

Improving speech
Namine had speech and physical therapy today. She has her good days and bad days, as anyone does, and today was a particularly good day.

Junabee Bajones
A while ago, Namine and I started reading chapter books. We’ve finished a book on Helen Keller, which she enjoyed very much, and the first in the Junie B. Jones series of books. Namine calls her “Junabee Bajones.”

Trip to Penzey’s
Yesterday we went to Penzey’s to get some spices.

Playing with Legos
Namine is playing on the floor with her Legos. She stood several guys around her. “We are gathered here today because I am awesome!”

Power of the spoken word
The other morning was a bit crazy. We were supposed to get up early, but none of us slept well.

Makes sense to me
“No, you are not spending money on the My Little Pony game.” “But Rarity needs her hair brushed!”

Pff, “cleaning”
We were going to clean up the living room and take down the tree today. We got the living room mostly clear when we said to each other, “You know what? The living room can wait, and the tree can stay up. Let’s go to the mall.”

Attention to detail
Namine seems to be fine once again with taking her medication. She understands – at least in broad strokes, if not in finer detail – what she takes and why. So I decided to test her.

Broken already
So Namine broke one of her toys already. File this one under “she doesn’t know her own strength,” but it still wouldn’t have happened if she had listened in the first place.
