Christmas at the Eiches’

Call me crazy, but I kinda love hosting holidays.

I know that hosting for a holiday party is a lot of work. We were thrown into it at the last minute a few years ago, but we made it work. When Jessica’s sisters asked if we could host Christmas this year, I enthusiastically agreed. We knew it would be a smaller get-together than last time we hosted, but that didn’t matter to me.

We have two Christmas trees and more light strings than we know what to do with. After the tree was set up (with our angel on top, of course) we also strung lights around the picture window and outside. I’d wanted a giant ornament for outside, so we picked one up and hung it from where we have a hanging planter in the warmer months. We strung lights around that, too.

Jessica had shown me an Instagram reel of how someone had strung Christmas lights along their hallway ceiling, and I wanted to do the same thing in ours. I think it turned out nicely.

As I mentioned, we had a smaller family gathering this time around. It was a beautiful day, and a good one for travelling. We all had a wonderful time! (Well, I suppose I can’t speak for everyone, but the three of us did for sure.)
