Namine has been looking forward to the new season of baseball for quite a while. Two weeks ago, we missed the Miracle League kickoff event — not a baseball game, but a meet and greet to acquaint players with their Buddies and coaches — due to rain. Then last week, Namine was sick and couldn’t attend. Now, at last, the moment has arrived!
Ever since Namine got her SmartDrive, we’ve been attaching it whenever we leave the house. We never know what kind of inclines and hills we’re going to encounter out and about; it’s better to have it and not need it than the reverse. There are plenty of those on the pathway to the Miracle Field, but Namine did not activate her drive once. Her excitement gave her all the energy she needed!
Some seasons, Namine has one Buddy; sometimes, she has more. This season, she has two. Ever sociable, she wasted no time getting to know them and telling them all about herself. When it was her turn to bat, she wasted no time in wheeling up to the plate.
As she approached, the umpire placed the tee in place. Namine asked him to remove it, explaining that she would rather hit a pitched ball. And hit it she did, on the first try. Yes, it was indeed good to be back!
