A story about cookies

Call it a social experiment, if you like.

When we went to Namine’s piano recital, we had to bring some kind of snack. (Every family did.) We’d planned on making cookies, but we never got the chance. Lacking the time, we just bought a package of cookies.

Just your standard variety pack of cookies.

Before we left for the recital, Jessica put the cookies into one of our empty cookie tins. When I asked why, she said, “So they look homemade.”

Fast forward to after Namine’s recital, when everyone was free to partake of said snacks. As it turned out, nearly everyone else had also brought cookies, but had left them in the store-bought packages they came in.

Interestingly enough, our cookies were gone first. We even overheard one person say, “Try these cookies, I think they’re homemade!”
