Yesterday was perhaps not the birthday that Jessica wanted – with Namine’s cardiology appointment revealing tachycardia – but it is indicative of the life we have with each other.
Here on the blog, I’ve got different categories. There’s one for Namine, there’s one for Jessica. But our life is never so neatly categorized. Our life blurs from hospital visit to medical crisis, from medical crisis to home, and we enjoy each others’ company throughout it all.
You might question my use of the word “enjoy,” especially in those times of medical crisis. But the fact of the matter is, we’re in this together, no matter what. Through all the hardship, we commit ourselves to love and care, through good times and bad. What Jessica and I promised each other on our wedding day was not just words, not mere sentiment. We’ve seen more tough times than most couples will see in an entire lifetime, but you know what? I wouldn’t change a moment of it for the world. What we’ve been through has made us the people we are today – more than the sum of our experiences, and all that – and I love the person my wife is.
Happy birthday to you, Jessica, my love and my best friend.
