No glitter allowed

At a dance recital, you can expect glitter. I tried to avoid it when my sister was in dance – alas, to no avail. And now I’m in for it again, with Namine’s very own first dance recital coming up.

I expected it – and was not surprised – when my mom told me that she and my sister planned on glittering up my daughter for her recital. I’ve resigned myself to it, I suppose. What did surprise me, however, was the bold ABSOLUTELY NO APPLICATION OF GLITTER IS ALLOWED on the parents’ recital packet. Yeah, I can understand that too.

But when we put Namine’s costume on the first time! Oh, the glitter, the glitter! Glitter everywhere. That thing sheds glitter like it’s going out of style.

I think, if they are trying to make glitter against the rules, they need to rethink their costumes.
