foot surgery

Zipper shoes
Namine has settled on a pair of shoes she likes and likes to wear.
-
Voldemorting
If you didn’t already know (I didn’t), “Voldemorting” is where you don’t use a thing’s name when talking about that thing. (There are slight Harry Potter spoilers ahead, so consider yourself warned.)
-
Informed decisions
There was a discussion on one of the Facebook groups I belong to on how and when to educate one’s child on surgery. I responded there with a simplified version of what follows, but I have more to say (as I usually do).
-
Hi-tops
Namine got new shoes, and they’re nothing like anything she’s ever worn before.
-
Needing new AFOs
We’re rethinking a decision made by Namine’s foot doctor.
-
Dress rehearsal
Namine and I had a blast at our dance dress rehearsal!
-
When Namine almost lost her foot
Five years ago, Namine had her second club foot repair surgery.
-
On school and support
Every year since Namine was four, we get these memories that show up in our “On This Day” Facebook feed. The memory in question is about us pulling her out of school.
-
Ortho clinic
We met with Namine’s orthopedic surgeon to discuss possible surgery.
-
Putting on braces
I love to write about Namine’s progress in her walker. I haven’t written as much about her braces, though.
-
Orthopedic visit
When we told Namine she had an appointment with Dr. Black, we were met with a look of confusion.
-
Taking risks
With as much work as Namine has been doing in physical therapy lately, it got me thinking. It’s been over two years since her second foot surgery, and she’s come leaps and bounds (sometimes literally) since then. It simply amazes me, how strong and resilient my daughter is.
