You might be asking yourself what chicken bacon is or you might already know. It is fabulous, it is delicious. It is not at all like pork bacon or even turkey bacon, but OH MY GOODNESS! Anyone that tries it just can’t get enough. The first time that we made it Namine kept sneaking it from the table with out us even noticing. I am going to share this recipe with you and I want you all to know this is not something you eat all the time. Once in a blue moon recipe. Alright are you ready? Are you really ready? Here goes…

First any baked chicken skin that you make. (You can not use Rotisserie skin, it doesn’t work.)


Delicious chicken. You must resist the siren song of eating its skin right now, lest you be dashed on the rocks of disappointment when you realize that you can no longer make chicken bacon.

Skin the chicken and put it on a double layer of paper towel, on a microwave safe plate.

Cover with a single layer of paper towel.


It puts the paper towel on its skin.

Place in microwave for one minute. It will pop and splat and sound crazy. DON’T GIVE UP!


I have to wait a whole minute and a half? I don't know if I can do that, Dave.

When the timer goes off check to make sure that it isn’t burning. Turn the microwave back on for 30 seconds and keep doing 30 seconds until it is no longer popping.


Oh good, we haven't set fire to anything, least of all our delicious chicken.

Take the paper towel off and enjoy.

I cannot take the credit for this recipe. We were at Paul’s Aunt’s house and she made it for us and we have enjoyed it ever since. Again only make it once in a while but enjoy!
