Drive through party

Namine celebrated her last day at her homeschool co-op by giving her teachers homemade cards.

As the school year approached its close, the homeschool co-op Namine attends had to re-think its year-end party. Due to the widespread effects of COVID-19 and the necessity of social distancing, Bright Rising Arts & Education had a parade of sorts. Parents and kids stayed in their cars as they drove slowly around the parking lot. Teachers came to the car windows to say hi.

As we drove around, Namine delivered thank-you cards to each of her teachers. She has had a wonderful time with them, even though circumstances were not what any of us thought they would be at the beginning of the year.

As we reached the end of our trip around the parking lot, there was one more surprise for Namine. They were making balloon — well, not animals, but shapes, I guess. I mean, we did see some butterflies and I forget what else, but for Namine they made an ice cream cone. Once we had left and rolled up our windows, she pulled down her face mask and pretended to eat it.
