Ron Perlman, in full Hellboy red makeup and horns, said, “I wish I could do something about this,” gesturing to his red skin and horns.

Namine turned to me. “Why did he say that?”

I explained, “Hellboy wants to look normal. He wants to have a normal life and be just like everyone else.”

Namine nodded. “I know what that’s like. Sometimes I do wish that my right leg was straight like my left leg, and my left leg could bend like my right leg. But God made me special. I’m unique, and I would never change it.”
