My heart rate surprised me this evening. It was much lower than I expected.
Tonight, like last night, I did four sets of 25 push ups each, punctuated by five minutes of running in place.
When I finished my 100 push ups, I checked my heart rate. I expected it to be at least 110, but certainly no lower than 100. To my surprise, it was a mere 74. Jessica asked me, half joking (I think), if I was having a heart attack. I’m still here though, so I assume the answer is no.
I have been paying close attention to my breathing during my push ups: inhaling on the way down, exhaling on the way back up. I guess it must be paying off.
