A day of resting

Two days after breaking her leg, Namine is starting to feel better.

When Namine’s orthpedic surgeon told Namine (and us) that she could put as much weight on it as was comfortable, we wondered how much that would be. At the end of the day, she was still in considerable pain.

This morning, however, Namine was feeling much better. She’s not yet to the point of being ready to stand on it, but she was starting to scoot around a bit.

On our way home from the orthopedic surgeon’s office yesterday, we’d stopped to pick up some more Tylenol and Motrin. The ER doctor had wanted to send us home with narcotics, but we don’t believe that would be doing Namine any favors. While we were there, we’d picked up a handful of new nail polish colors to try — all picked out by Namine.

Guess what the girls did today.

When I tucked Namine into bed this evening, she said her pain was an eight on a scale of one to ten. As the day goes on, her leg hurts more and more, but that’s no surprise to us. Still, we’re glad to see that she’s gotten back a little more of her cheerful self.
