Make A Wish: staying in

This morning Namine got autographs from several Disney characters.

Nearly every morning here at the Village, there are characters to meet, talk to, and get autographs from. Tomorrow there will be Nickelodeon characters (I forget who, aside from Dora); this morning there were Mary Poppins, Pluto, Goofy, and Mickey Mouse.

After getting autographs this morning, we headed to breakfast. We had thought to head to Disney World afterward, but Namine changed her mind: her heart was set on going swimming. We hadn’t had the time yesterday to go swimming, so we changed into our swimsuits and headed to the pool, just a short walk from our villa.

There was a splash pad, not unlike others that Namine has been to, but the water was quite cold. The pool, by contrast, was much warmer. On one end were stairs, but the other was a gradual incline. This suited Namine perfectly — with her swim shorts and shoes, she could scoot on the ground without fear of scraping herself up (as she has in the past) and enter the pool at her own pace.

Jessica and I took turns swimming with Namine. She found that she could walk easily in the shallow water, and she later discovered that she could walk on her hands in the very shallow water.

When we got back to the villa, we found a gift waiting for Namine on the table. She opened it to find a Mickey Mouse hat, one that looks like a gumball vending machine.
