On the sign in front of the train, it says that any child four years old or younger must be accompanied by an adult or guardian. I tried to wrap my head around the idea of letting Namine ride the train by herself; I couldn’t do it. Maybe I’m too overprotective, maybe I’m just too used to accompanying her no matter what. I try to give her as much independence as I can, tempered by what I feel she is capable of handling. The way I figure it, at least I know I’m showing overprotective parental tendencies. If Namine brings it up, I’m more than happy to talk about it.

In any event, Namine is still happy to have me along. She’s still very much a daddy’s girl, and that’s just fine with me.
