Some days ago, Namine woke crying from a nightmare. I was still awake, fortunately, so I was able to rush in almost immediately.
I just held her until she calmed down enough to talk to me. She told me about her nightmare: giant turtles were trying to eat her. She knew it was just a dream, but she was afraid that there really were giant turtles. I told her that there were, but they only ate plants. She was skeptical.
So I pulled out my phone and looked up some pictures of Galapagos tortoises. I showed Namine that they only ate plants, and explained that they were gentle, slow, and did not eat little girls. She was much calmer after that, and soon fell asleep again.
