In all the excitement about getting an MRI in preparation for getting her hernias fixed and g-tube removed, I completely forgot to post about Namine’s AFOs. The doctor said they would be ready sometime after Christmas, but I honestly didn’t expect them to be ready this soon. Nonetheless, Jess, my mom, my sister and Namine went to the orthotic clinic today to pick up the new AFOs.

There are two sets – one for daytime, and one for nighttime. They have to be strapped pretty tight to ensure keeping Namine’s feet in place. As a result, we’re to only keep them on during the day for a half hour at a time. Half hour on, half hour off.

Oh, and one more thing. She has adorable shoes.

  1. Wow! Love seeing her move like that! Adorable all over! You didn’t mention any need to adjust them! Wow for that, too! (Pretty rigorous wearing schedule, however.)

  2. Yes, the wearing schedule is, well, wearing. (Pardon the pun.) No need to adjust them so far – we will be keeping a very close eye on her legs for the next few days, however, watching especially for redness.
