In answer to the question of recovery periods, Namine will be in the hospital for up to 3 days after they remove the trach. A week or so later, her stoma (tracheostomy hole in her throat) will be closed, end of story. The foot surgery, on the other hand, has a recovery period of 6-8 weeks.
During that time, Namine will have to wear casts on her legs and feet. After her feet have healed enough for them to remove the casts, she will get two sets of braces. One set will be for wearing during the day, during crawling around and general out-and-about-ness; the other set will be for nighttime and sleeping in.
We really don’t have much more detail about the foot repair than that. We’ll have to play it by ear, and learn more as we get closer to the surgery date.
