The coaches divided the kids into pairs, in order to practice defensive blocking and pushing past it on the offense. Namine is still not quite used to how to properly block — after being told for years to be careful not to run people over — but she’s getting better at offense. I was impressed to see her fake her way past her defender.
Namine has practiced throwing, catching, offense, and defense. But for the first time in this weekend’s practice, she started to combine some of those skills. In groups of three, the kids passed the ball to each other while moving down the court toward the other end.
